Dear Friends and Neighbors,
CinemaSF is thrilled to announce a new partnership! Shuttered since 2005, and after 6 years of countless hours and tireless effort by the all-volunteer nonprofit Park Theater Trust (TPTT), the East Bay and Lafayette are about to be reunited with the historic downtown Park Theater cinema! TPTT purchased the theater on behalf of the entire community in 2021, and they have tapped CinemaSF as the theater operators!
The Park Theater will be CinemaSF’s first foray into the East Bay and will offer first-run art and indie films, Hollywood classics, live music, and a wide range of the alternative programming you’ve come to expect from CinemaSF. Renovation plans have been approved by Lafayette City Planning and are now on their way to the County for a building permit. Pre-renovation demolition is set to begin January 2025.
