CinemaSF is one of the largest independent year round organizations in San Francisco dedicated to preserving the moviegoing experience for the city.

Our three cinemas (the 4-Star, the Balboa, and the Vogue) are located throughout the Richmond District and equipped for a wide variety of rentals. From birthday parties to film premieres to wedding receptions, we’re sure our historic venues can support whatever you need to make your event into the special occasion you deserve.

Non-evening rentals (10 AM - 1 PM)
1. 50 guests and under is $600
2. 50-100 guests is $700
3. Over 100 guests is $800.
Wed. - Sat. evening rentals (4 PM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 10 PM)
1. 50 guests and under is $1200
2. 50-100 guests is $1300
3. Over 100 guests is $1400.
Wed. - Sat. late night rentals (10 PM - 1 AM)
1. 50 guests and under is $600
2. 50-100 guests is $700
3. Over 100 guests is $800.

Rental prices are usually determined by its time of day in relation to our regular programming, and the amount of staff that will need to be on hand for an event.
Rental times are traditionally up to three hours. If you need to go over this allotted time, this will need to be arranged prior to the event for an additional fee.
There is an ongoing discounted rate of $1000 for Monday or Tuesday evening rentals of any size at all three locations. (4pm-7pm or 7pm-10pm).
For all of 2025, weekend mornings at the 4-Star will be unavailable due to Popcorn Palace.
All children’s birthday parties have a discounted popcorn deal (1 small popcorn + 1 water bottle for $5).

The marquees at all three cinemas can be rented for $250 a side (two lines for the Vogue and 4-Star, one line for Balboa).
The Balboa and 4-Star have two sides and the Vogue has one.
Our rental manager will have to sign off on the message first before approval.
